Euskaltzaindiak, azpiratutako herri-hizkuntzaren akademia gisa, euskara eskola-sistema publikoan sartzeko eskariak egin zizkion Hezkuntza eta Zientzia Ministerioari. Saio horiek talde soziopolitiko ezberdinen, klandestinoak barne, arteko elkarlan gisa gauzatu ziren, betiere diktadurak onar zitzakeen ordezkarien bitartez. 1968an ofizialki abiatutako euskara batua, halaber, eskolaren gisako funtzio formalak egituratzeko plangintzan kokatzen da. Ministerioak 1969an itxaropena piztu zuen arren Liburu Zuriaren argitalpenarekin, 1970eko Hezkuntza Erreformatzeko Legeak mugak ezarri zizkion gaztelaniaz besteko herri hizkuntzen garatzeari.

Euskaltzaindia during the 1960\'s: the attempts to introduce the Basque language into the state school system of Francoist Spain

Euskaltzaindia, as the academy of a minorised language, made petitions to the Education and Science Ministry in order to introduce the Basque language into the state school system. Those actions were carried out with the collaboration of different sociopolitical groups, including the underground, but using spokesmen that could be accepted by the dictatorship. The standard Basque officially inaugurated in 1968, also served as part of the status planning to fill in formal language functions like school. Although the Ministry created great expectation with a White Paper on education in 1969, the following Reform Law of 1970 limited the development of the native languages, other than Spanish.
